Privacy Policy for Browser Extensions

Last Updated: June 26, 2026

Introduction

IMBD Agency (“we,” “us,” or “our”) develops custom browser extensions strictly for the internal use of our employees and authorized personnel. These extensions are designed to streamline internal workflows and are not intended for use by the general public.

This Privacy Policy explains how our internal browser extensions collect, handle, store, and share information in compliance with the Google Chrome Web Store User Data Policy.

Data Collection

Our internal extensions are designed to collect only the minimum amount of data necessary to provide their core productivity functionalities to our employees. Depending on the specific internal extension being used, we may collect or process the following:

  • Clipboard Data: For extensions with copy-paste or clipboard history functionalities, the extension temporarily reads the text recently copied to the employee’s local device clipboard.

  • Authentication & API Data: To securely connect with our company’s Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools or internal databases, the extension may require API keys, authentication tokens, or employee login credentials.

  • User Preferences: Settings and display preferences configured locally by the employee within the extension.

Data Handling

We handle data strictly to facilitate internal workflows, improve employee productivity, and ensure the proper functioning of the extension.

  • Clipboard Data is handled solely to display recently copied text within the extension’s interface, allowing employees to efficiently manage and paste data during their daily tasks.

  • Authentication Data is used exclusively to establish a secure, authenticated connection between the extension and IMBD Agency’s authorized CRMs or internal APIs. This allows the extension to query and fetch necessary company data (such as standard prompts or client information) directly to the browser.

  • We do not use any data for tracking personal browsing behavior, user profiling, or targeted advertising.

Data Storage

We prioritize secure, local storage for all internal extension operations.

  • Local Storage: All sensitive data including clipboard history, API keys, and individual user preferences is stored locally on the employee’s device using the browser’s secure built-in storage APIs (such as chrome.storage.local or chrome.storage.sync).

  • No Remote Tracking: We do not transmit, upload, or store local clipboard data or copied texts on remote servers.

  • If Chrome Sync is enabled on a company Google Workspace account, extension settings (such as API keys) may be synced securely across the employee’s logged-in company devices, subject to Google’s standard privacy policies.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

Because these are internal company tools, data privacy and security are strictly maintained within IMBD Agency’s operational ecosystem.

  • No Third-Party Sales: We absolutely do not sell, rent, trade, or share any local extension data, clipboard history, or CRM data with outside third parties.

  • Company-Authorized Services: Data is only transmitted to company-authorized services (like our internal CRM) when explicitly triggered by an employee’s action (e.g., querying the database). This transmission occurs directly between the browser and the authorized API.

  • Legal Requirements: We will only disclose information if strictly required to do so by law or valid legal processes.

Extension Permissions Justification

To function correctly, our internal extensions request specific browser permissions solely to execute their required workflows:

  • clipboardRead / clipboardWrite: Required to read recently copied text for clipboard management tools, and to write fetched data to the clipboard for immediate pasting into operational tools.

  • storage: Required to securely save employee settings, authentication tokens, and temporary clipboard history locally on the device.

  • scripting: Required to programmatically inject our necessary content scripts into already-open tabs immediately when the extension is installed or updated, ensuring employees do not have to manually refresh their active pages to use the tools.
  • identity / activeTab / Host Permissions: (If applicable) Required to authenticate the employee securely and allow the extension to communicate exclusively with our authorized CRM web domains.

Data Retention and Deletion

Since extension data is stored locally on the employee’s device, it can be cleared at any time. Employees can delete their local data by:

  • Clearing the extension’s internal history via the provided interface.

  • Logging out or removing API credentials from the extension settings.

  • Uninstalling the extension, which automatically wipes the locally associated data.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect new internal tools, features, or compliance requirements. Updates will be communicated internally to all employees, and the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
